Special Education Teacher

Jeremiah School is a small, private, non-profit, faith-based school for students with mild-moderate autism located in Johnson City, TN. Our school is growing! We are now on our own campus so we are able to open new classes. We are seeking an experienced special education teacher to work as part of a team to implement a curriculum that addresses the individual needs and interests of students ages 8-18.  Our class sizes are very small (6 students) which allows our staff to provide a flexible, supportive, and individualized environment. We take a holistic approach to the curriculum, incorporating academics, social skills, life skills, workplace skills, community-based education, counseling, and therapies. As a private school, we can design a custom curriculum for our students and are not subject to the same testing requirements and bureaucracy as the public school system. We are in search of a teacher with passion, enthusiasm, initiative, experience, and creativity who will be fully committed to the vision and mission of our school.

This is an exciting opportunity for a teacher who really wants to make a difference in the lives of children with autism and their families. Applicants must have  experience teaching students with autism and preferably a degree in special education. This is a full-time position beginning at the end of July 2023.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: starting at  $33,000.00 /year (dependent on qualifications and experience)

Experience:

  • Special Education Teaching: 1 year (Preferred)
  • Education: Master’s (Preferred)
